Choi Yeo-jin broke into the entertainment industry after winning a modeling contest in 2001. In 2002, she landed appearances in the dramas Love Without Obstacle and Honest Living. Her acting breakthrough came in 2007 with back-to-back roles in the SBS medical drama Surgeon Bong Dal-hee and the weekend series Golden Bride. She won the New Star Award at the 2007 SBS Drama Awards for her performance in both dramas. She also scored a Best New Actress for TV nomination at the 44th Baeksang Arts Awards for her work in Golden Bride. In 2010, she starred in the MBC sitcom More Charming by the Day, in which she took home an Excellence Award at the MBC Entertainment Awards. In 2012, she joined and won the second season of the MBC dance competition show Dancing with the Stars. In 2014, she joined the main cast of the tvN drama Emergency Couple.


Choi Yeo-jin was born in South Korea but moved to Canada after her parents’ divorce when she was in middle school. She learned ballet when she was young and once dreamed of becoming a ballerina.
