Eom Hyo-seob debuted as a theater actor in the 1990 Korean production of the musical Cats. He then landed his first screen role in the 1995 romantic comedy film Who Drives Me Crazy. He has since become a staple in both TV and film, mostly playing supporting characters. In 2009, he was cast in the hit MBC sageuk Queen Seon-deok. In 2011, he appeared in several TV series such as SBS’s Warrior Baek Dong-soo and KBS2’s The Princess’s Man. In 2013, he played Jeon Ji-hyun’s father in the widely popular SBS fantasy romantic comedy You From Another Star. In 2015, he became part of the film Gangnam Blues. In 2016, he joined SBS’s Doctors and MBC’s Shopping King Louis. In 2017, he acted alongside Kim Nam-gil and Kim Ah-joong in the high-rating tvN time-slip series Live Up to Your Name. In 2019, he portrayed Kim Hye-yoon’s father in Extraordinary You, which was named Drama of the Year at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2021, he worked with Joo Sang-wook in the KBS1 sageuk The King of Tears, Lee Bang-won.
