Heo Yi-jae began her career in the entertainment industry as a model before making her acting debut in the 2000 film Da Capo. Nicknamed “Little Kim Tae-hee” due to her resemblance to the well-known actress, she made a name for herself when she was cast as the female lead in the 2007 MBC series Goong S (a.k.a. Prince Hours). It is a spin-off of the hit 2006 MBC drama Goong (a.k.a. Princess Hours). In 2008, she acted alongside Oh Ji-ho in KBS2’s Single Papa in Love. The following year, she starred in the films 19-Nineteen and Girlfriends. In 2016, she led the SBS daily drama You Are a Gift, after which she retired from acting.

Heo Yi-jae married a businessman named Lee Seung-woo in January 2011. They divorced in 2015. In 2021, she revealed in a YouTube channel appearance that her sudden retirement was due to an unnamed actor’s abusive behavior toward her on the set of a drama they starred together.
