In 2009, she became part of MBC’s Queen of Housewives, which was nominated for Best Drama at the 46th Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2017, she joined the top-rating JTBC series Woman of Dignity. In 2019, she was cast in the tvN comedy-thriller drama Psychopath Diary. That same year, she appeared in the box-office hit disaster action comedy film Exit.
Hwang Hyo-eun married a film company employee named Kim Eui-sung in May 2009.
