Hwang Seok-jung has been active as an actress since 2001, with the coming-of-age film Take Care of My Cat being her first acting credit. Since then, she has been in numerous TV series and movies, mostly playing supporting roles. In 2013, she became part of the KBS2 dramas God of the Workplace and Secret. In 2014, she was cast in multiple TV series such as the MBC sageuk Records of a Night Watchman and the hit tvN workplace drama Misaeng. In 2015, she attracted viewers’ attention with her scene-stealing performance in the MBC romantic comedy She Was Pretty, which won her Best Supporting Actress at the MBC Drama Awards. She then joined KBS2’s Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho in 2016 and SBS’s Temperature of Love in 2017. Her work in the former earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2019, she appeared in the KBS2 fantasy melodrama Miracle That We Met and in the SBS legal series Your Honor.
Hwang Seok-jung was appointed as a professor of broadcasting and entertainment at Paekche Institute of the Arts in 2022.
