Jang Gyuri became part of Fromis 9 after placing ninth in the Mnet reality show Idol School in 2017. The group officially debuted in January 2018 with the extended play To. Heart. In May of that year, Jang Gyuri participated in Mnet’s Produce 48, but was eliminated. She and the eight other members of Fromis 9 then made a comeback as a nine-piece group with the special album From.9. In 2019, she made her acting debut in the web drama Dating Class. In 2020, she appeared in the hit tvN series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. In 2022, she left Fromis 9 following the expiration of her contract with her talent agency. That same year, she joined the main cast of the SBS campus drama Cheer Up.
