Jang Kiha debuted with the South Korean indie rock band Kiha & The Faces in 2008. They found quick fame with their hit debut single Cheap Coffee, which won them numerous citations including Song of the Year at the 2009 Korean Pop Music Awards. In February 2009, they released their first studio album called Living the Carefree Life. In 2012, they were given the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation at the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards for their contributions to K-pop. They disbanded in 2018 following the release of their fifth studio album Mono.


Jang Kiha also tried his hand at radio hosting with the SBS Power FM program Jang Kiha’s Great Radio. He hosted the show from 2012 to 2015. In 2013, he made his acting debut as a guitarist in the tvN sitcom Potato Star 2013QR3.


Jang Kiha graduated from Seoul National University with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. He dated singer-songwriter and actress IU. They revealed they had been in a relationship for two years in 2015. They broke up in January 2017 after four years of dating.
