Ji Jin-hee made his television debut in the 2000 KBS2 series Female Secretary. Two years later, he landed his first big screen role as a detective in the urban horror-thriller film H. In 2003, he was launched into pan-Asian fame with his leading role in the megahit MBC sageuk Dae Jang Geum, which logged a peak viewership rating of over 57 percent. In 2004, he acted alongside Kim Hyun-joo in the SBS series Miss Kim’s Million Dollar Quest, which won him an Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2009, he took on the male lead role in KBS2’s The Man Who Can’t Get Married, which earned him an Excellence Award at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2010, he starred in the high-rating MBC sageuk Dong Yi, opposite Han Hyo-joo. He received a Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards for his work in the series. In 2015, he reunited with Kim Hyun-joo in the SBS weekend drama I Have a Lover. In 2021, they worked together for the third time in JTBC’s Undercover, which was based on the BBC drama of the same name.


Ji Jin-hee completed his degree in visual design at Myongji University. He and his wife Lee Soo-yeon married in 2004 after six years of dating. They have two sons together.
