Kim Min-kyu debuted as an actor in the 2013 Mnet series Monstar. He then had appearances in the tvN dramas Signal and Because This Life Is Our First in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, he joined the MBC series Wealthy Son, which earned him a Best New Actor nomination at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2019, he became part of the main cast of the KBS2 fantasy romantic comedy Perfume. That same year, he was cast in his first leading role as a Joseon king in TV Chosun’s Queen: Love and War. In 2021, he showed his wide acting range with two very different roles as Sooyoung’s good photographer friend in Naver TV’s So I Married the Anti-fan and as a cold-hearted North Korean agent in JTBC’s Snowdrop.
