Kim Myung-min made his entertainment industry debut in 1996 when he won a public talent audition by SBS. In 2001, he starred in the horror film Sorum, which won him Best New Actor at the 2nd Busan Film Critics Awards and at the 4th Director’s Cut Awards. In 2005, he played the titular character in the KBS1 drama Immortal Lee Soon-shin, which gave him several acting citations including the Daesang at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2007, he acted alongside Lee Seon-kyun in the MBC medical series White Tower, which earned him the Best Actor trophy at the 43rd Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2008, he led the cast of MBC’s Beethoven Virus, which scored him another Baeksang Best Actor trophy. He also received two Daesangs for his work in the series. In 2009, he took home two more Best Actor trophies for the film Closer to Heaven. In 2015, he joined the ensemble cast of the SBS sageuk Six Flying Dragons. In 2018, he was cast in the KBS2 fantasy melo Miracle That We Met, which won him another Daesang at the KBS Drama Awards.


Kim Myung-min and his wife Lee Kyung-mi tied the knot in 2001. They have a son together.
