Kim Su-ro began acting in theater before making his big screen debut in the 1993 action-comedy film Two Cops. He established himself as an actor in the early 2000s through his streak of successful films, namely Hi! Dharma!, Volcano High, and Dance With the Wind. His work in the said movies earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination each. In 2010, he starred in the KBS2 teen drama God of Study, which won him an Excellence Award at the KBS Drama Awards. The series also gave him a Best Actor nomination at the 46th Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2012, he took home another Excellence Award, this time at the SBS Drama Awards for the hit series A Gentleman’s Dignity. In 2013, he joined the original cast of the MBC variety show Real Men, which scored him a Top Excellence Award at the MBC Entertainment Awards. Aside from acting and hosting, he also forayed into producing theater productions through the Kim Su-ro Project.


Kim Su-ro married his long-time girlfriend, actress Lee Kyung-hwa, in 2006.
