Maeng Sang-hoon has been in the entertainment industry since 1991 with the top-rating MBC series Eyes of Dawn being his first acting credit. His early TV projects include 1997’s Star in My Heart and 1999’s Hur Jun. In 2003, he acted alongside Lee Young-ae in the widely popular MBC sageuk Dae Jang Geum. He then appeared in SBS’s Ballad of Seodong in 2005 and in MBC’s Yi San in 2007. In 2010, he joined another hit MBC sageuk, Dong Yi. He spent the next years of his career playing supporting characters in numerous TV series such as the SBS fantasy sageuk Rooftop Prince in 2012 and the tvN romance melodrama Crazy Love in 2013. In 2017, he worked with Kim Nam-gil and Kim Ah-joong in tvN’s time-slip medical comedy Live Up to Your Name. In 2019, he portrayed Park Min-young’s father in the tvN romantic comedy Her Private Life.
