Min Hyo-rin began her entertainment career as a model for a clothing brand in 2006. The following year, she debuted as a soloist with the five-track album RinZ. She was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2007 Mnet KM Music Festival for the song Stars from her debut album. In 2008, she released the single Touch Me. In 2009, she made her acting debut in the MBC series Triple, which earned her a Best New Actress nomination at the MBC Drama Awards. Her breakthrough came in 2011 when she became part of the hit comedy-drama film Sunny, which won her Best New Actress at the 19th Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards. In 2012, she starred in another blockbuster movie called Gone With the Wind along with Cha Tae-hyun and Oh Ji-ho. In 2015, she headlined Mnet’s music drama Persevere, Gu Hae-ra.


Min Hyo-rin married her long-time boyfriend Taeyang of the South Korean boy band Big Bang in February 2018. The couple became parents to a son in November 2021.
