Minah debuted with Girl’s Day in 2010 with the single Tilt My Head. In 2013, the group released their first studio album called Expectation, which was later re-released under the title Female President. In 2014, the song Something from their fourth extended play Everyday 3 became their highest-charting single, peaking at No. 2 on both the Billboard’s K-Pop Hot 100 and the Gaon Digital Chart. The single’s music video also reached over a million views in just one day. In 2015, Girl’s Day ranked 13th in Forbes Korea’s Power Celebrity List. That same year, Minah made her solo debut with the extended play I Am a Woman Too.


Minah made her acting debut in the 2010 tvN variety program Roller Coaster. She then landed her first big screen role in Holly, which earned her the Best New Actress trophy at the 2013 Gwangju International Film Festival. In 2016, she was cast as the female lead in the SBS romantic comedy Beautiful Gong Shim, opposite Namgoong Min. The series won her the New Star Award as well as an Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2019, she starred in SBS’s My Absolute Boyfriend, which scored her a Top Excellence Award nomination at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2020, she led the youth drama film Snowball, which gave her several acting citations, including the Screen International Rising Star Asia Award at the 2021 New York Asian Film Festival.


Minah graduated from Jinseon Girls’ High School in Seoul and continued her studies at Dongduk Women’s University.
