Minhyun debuted with NU’EST in March 2012 with the single titled Face. In 2014, they released their first full-length Korean album called Re:Birth. In 2015, their Japanese debut studio album Bridge the World hit the airwaves. In 2017, he and other members of NU’EST joined the second season of Mnet’s Produce 101. He finished at ninth place at the end of show, making him a member of its derivative boy group Wanna One. They debuted in August 2017 with the extended play 1×1=1 (To Be One). In 2019, Minhyun released the digital solo single Universe.


Minhyun, along with his fellow NU’EST members, made his Japanese film debut in 2015 through Their Distance. In 2019, he debuted on stage in the musical Marie Antoinette, which won him Best New Actor at the Stagetalk Audience Choice Awards. In 2020, he led JTBC’s eight-episode series Live On, opposite Jung Da-bin.


Minhyun graduated from School of Performing Arts Seoul. He was later accepted to Inha University as a theater and film major student.
