Myung Se-bin made her entertainment industry debut in 1996 after she was cast in Shin Seung-hoon’s music video for his song Love in My Own Way. In 1998, she landed her first small screen role in the KBS2 series Purity, which was immediately followed by another KBS2 drama Paper Crane. Both projects won her Best New Actress at the KBS Drama Awards. She also received the Best New Actress trophy at the 35th Baeksang Arts Awards for Purity. She next starred in the 1998 movie Scent of a Man, which earned her a Best New Actress nomination at the 36th Grand Bell Awards. In 2004, she played one of the main characters in MBC’s The Woman Who Wants to Marry, which gave her a Top Excellence Award nomination at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2010, she acted alongside Yang Mi-ra and Jo Ahn in the SBS daily series Three Sisters. In 2017, she bagged an Excellence Award at the KBS Drama Awards for another daily series titled First Love Again.


Myung Se-bin is a member of Korea’s Seochok Myeong clan. She graduated from Dongduk Women’s University with a degree in textile. In August 2007, she tied the knot with a lawyer named Kang Ho-sung. They divorced just five months later.
