Park Byung-eun debuted as an actor in 2000 with a small role in the MBC series Mr. Duke. In 2009, he landed his first major role in the movie The Pit and the Pendulum Pit. His career breakthrough came in 2015 when he played a Japanese military officer in the box-office hit espionage action film Assassination. The movie took home the Best Film honors at the 36th Blue Dragon Film Awards and the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2016, he became part of the crime thriller film One Line. The following year, he acted alongside Lee Min-ki and Jung So-min in the tvN quirky romantic comedy Because This Life Is Our First. In 2021, he was cast in a main role in Kingdom: Ashin of the North, which acts as a sidequel to the second season of Netflix’s zombie sageuk drama Kingdom.
