So Yoo-jin started acting in 2000 with appearances in the SBS dramas Virtue and Rookie. In 2001, she took home an Excellence Award at the MBC Entertainment Awards for her work in MBC’s Section TV. That same year, she received the Best New Actress trophy at the MBC Drama Awards for the romantic comedy Delicious Proposal. In 2002, she led the SBS series Rival, which won her the Most Popular Actress honors at the 38th Baeksang Arts Awards and the SBS Drama Awards. In 2003, she starred in the MBC dramas The Bean Chaff of My Life and Good Person, which gave her an Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2013, she played a bar hostess in the movie Mai Ratima, which bagged the Jury Prize at the 15th Deauville Asian Film Festival. In 2016, she became part of the KBS2 family drama Five Kids, in which she picked up an Excellence Award at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2018, she collected a Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards for the series My Healing Love.


So Yoo-jin married Baek Jong-won, who is a chef and the CEO of several restaurant franchises, on January 19, 2013. They have one son and two daughters together.
