Wie Ha-joon broke into the world of acting in 2012 with the short film Peace in Them. In 2016, he bagged his first television acting role in the MBC series Goodbye Mr. Black. In 2018, he landed a main role in the horror film Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, which was a commercial success. His work in the movie earned him Best New Actor nominations at the 55th Grand Bell Awards, the 39th Blue Dragon Film Awards, and the 23rd Chunsa Film Art Awards.  That same year, he appeared in JTBC’s Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food and KBS2’s Matrimonial Chaos. His performance in the former scored him a Best New Actor nomination at the 11th Korea Drama Awards. In 2019, he became part of the main cast of the tvN romantic comedy Romance Is a Bonus Book, in which he was nominated for Best New Actor for TV at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2021, he starred in the megahit Netflix survival drama Squid Game, which became the first series to surpass 100 million views in its first month on the streaming platform.


Wie Ha-joon majored in theater and film at the Sungkyul University. During a guest appearance on the KBS2 variety show Problem Child in the House, the actor shared that his father owns an abalone farm. He likes exercising.
