Yeo Jin-gu made his acting debut as a child actor in the 2005 film Sad Movie. He spent the next years of his career mostly playing the young counterparts of main characters in various TV series and films. In 2012, he was launched into fame when he was cast as the teen version of Kim Soo-hyun’s character in the hit MBC sageuk The Moon That Embraces the Sun. He raked in multiple acting trophies for his performance in the series. In 2013, he gave life to the titular character in the action film Hwayi: A Monster Boy, which earned him several Best New Actor citations, including one from the 34th Blue Dragon Film Awards. In 2015, he landed his first leading role in KBS2’s Orange Marmalade, which gave him another Best New Actor trophy at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2016, he took home an Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards for the sageuk Jackpot. In 2019, he led tvN’s The Crowned Clown, which scored him a Best Actor nomination at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards. That same year, he was paired with IU in the popular tvN dark fantasy drama Hotel del Luna. In 2021, he acted alongside Shin Ha-kyun in JTBC’s Beyond Evil, which was named Best Drama at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards.


Yeo Jin-gu graduated from Seoul’s Namgang High School and continued his education at Chung-Ang University.
