Yoo Joon-sang began his acting career in 1995 through SBS’s open auditions. His early notable works in television include 2001’s How Should I Be and 2002’s Fox and Cotton Candy, which both aired on MBC. In 2005 and 2007, he won Excellence Awards at the SBS Drama Awards for Toji, the Land and Catching Up with Gangnam Moms. He then acted alongside Kim Myung-min in the 2007 film Wide Awake, which earned him the Best Supporting Actor trophy at the 45th Grand Bell Awards. In 2010, he collected two more Best Supporting Actor trophies for the films Ha Ha Ha and Moss. In 2011, he was named Best Actor at the 12th Busan Film Critics Awards for the black-and-white drama film The Day He Arrives. In 2012, he returned to the small screen in the KBS2 series You Who Rolled in Unexpectedly, which gave him multiple acting citations. In 2015, he bagged a Top Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards for the black comedy Heard It Through the Grapevine. In 2019, he received another Top Excellence Award at the KBS Drama Awards for What’s Wrong Mr. Poong-sang. In 2020, he starred in the hit OCN series The Uncanny Counter.


Yoo Joon-sang attended Dongguk University for both his bachelor’s and master’s studies. He and actress Hong Eun-hee tied the knot in 2003. They have two sons together, namely Dong-woo and Min-jae.
