Yoon Jin-seo debuted as an actress in the 2001 short film A Perfect Day and has since become active on both the big and small screens. She was launched into fame when she became part of director Park Chan-wook’s acclaimed film Oldboy in 2003. Her performance in the movie won her Best New Actress at the 40th Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2005, she joined the romance film All for Love. In 2008, she acted alongside Yoon Kye-sang and Ha Jung-woo in the film The Moonlight of Seoul, which earned her a nomination for Most Popular Actress for Film at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2009, she starred in the MBC sageuk Return of Iljimae. In 2010, she played a detective in KBS2’s Runaway: Plan B. In 2014, she was nominated for Best Actress at the 1st Wildflower Film Awards for Do You Hear She Sings? In 2016, she was cast as one of the main characters in SBS’s Jackpot, which scored her a Top Excellence Award nomination at the SBS Drama Awards.


Yoo Jin-seo dated baseball star Lee Taek-geun. In April 2017, she tied the knot with her non-celebrity boyfriend on Jeju Island.
