Yura, along with Hyeri, joined the South Korean girl group Girl’s Day as replacements to original members Jisun and Jiin, who left the band just two months after their debut in 2010. In March 2013, the group released their first full-length album called Expectation, which was re-released under the title Female President. Their song called Something from their fourth extended play Everyday 3 became their highest-charting single on both the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard’s K-Pop Hot 100. In 2015, Girl’s Day ranked 13th in Forbes Korea’s Power Celebrity List.

Yura made her acting debut in the Sohu TV Chinese drama Secret Angel. That same year, she appeared in the SBS romantic comedy To the Beautiful You. In 2014, she was paired with Hong Jong-hyun in MBC’s We Got Married. Her appearance in the reality-variety show won her the Rookie Female Award at the 2014 MBC Entertainment Awards. Also 2014, she led the SBS Plus web series Dodohara, which won her the Popularity Award at the 2015 Cable TV Broadcast Awards. In 2017, she took home an Excellence Award at the MBC Entertainment Awards for the variety show Living Together in an Empty Room. In 2018, she played an over-the-hill actress in the KBS2 drama Radio Romance.
