Day 3 – PPL a drama feels empty without

I’m going to give all my points to Subway. From chaebols to high school kids to North Korean army captains, a Subway lunch is apparently the Great Equalizer.

It’s now so ubiquitous that I’m starting to feel like no drama is complete without it; like a friend you’ve had since childhood, quiet but always part of the entourage. The kind of friend where, when the crew is moving to the next bar on the hop, you look up, notice he’s not there and go, “Hey, wait! Where’s Subway?”

Somehow this mass-market chain selling the humble sandwich has become part of k-drama DNA. And the PPL must be doing its job, because now I’m craving one and I haven’t eaten there in years.

    When I started watching dramas, I knew nothing about PPL, and I was confused… why did people that worked all day in a restaurant go to eat to Subway? Why did people that OWNED restaurants go to eat there? Why did people always meet potential killers / enemies / lovers there? 🤔🤔🤔

    I’ve seen it so much that PPL almost worked on me, but then I remembered their food taste like plastic. But if I’m ever in Korea I’ll try it, fast food is usually better outside of the US.

    It’s so funny to me because there are barely no Subway in Spain compared to other franchises. I would have to travel like 300km to get to one, haha.

      I’m honestly shocked by how many there are here in France – I pass by one nearly every day when I walk by the river. In the land of bakeries, it still amazes me a little that people opt for Subway over a boulangerie-made sandwich!
