Any other Beanies watching Arsenal Military Academy? I’m kind of lovin’ it right now. It’s also surprisingly giving me second female lead syndrome for the first time!
It’s going on my “To Watch” list… When I first read the synopsis, I thought, “Okay… so ‘modern day Mulan/Hana Kimi (switch out the school for military)? 🤣
The modern-day Mulan/Hana Kimi was what lured me in, but there’s actually much less emphasis on the gender-bender tropes than I thought there would be. It’s more focused on the conflicts with the Japanese and how every cast member is affected by them. There are some episodes where Xu Kai and Bai Lu are only present for like ~10 minutes in the episode, but I surprisingly really like it regardless of the lack of rom-com fun.
I’m actually not surprised… From what you’re giving me about the synopsis, it’s probably a good thing that it’s so straightforward and less lovey-dovey, because if it were more of the latter, I feel like it might’ve not been able to make it to the airwaves #censorship
