So Panda and Hedgehog is one of the silliest kdramas but it’s also the first kdrama that I’ve watched that has given me legitimate second lead syndrome. I never knew what second lead syndrome was until now…after two years of watching kdrama. When Choi Jin Hyuk’s character was heartbroken, I swear that I literally had pain in my chest for him too. Whenever he smiled, I was happy…can’t believe it’s happened for the first time for this artificial redhead. Also, it’s not that I don’t like Lee Donghae’s character…I just seriously care for second male lead for the first time.
CJH’s character is just so endearingly clueless…he would drive up to Panda’s house and see Hedgehog there and get upset and just get back in his car and drive away. I also sympathized with his stepfather situation and well he’s the rightful “CEO” so I think I always have a thing for the chaebols lol
I remember liking the drama and thinking I would have liked it more if the two dudes had run off together—by the end they seemed more in to each other than either of them did the girl. But—like I said, its been awhile.
I haven’t seen School 2017 but female lead in Tomorrow’s Cantabile was running around in quite a few eps handing out Subway sandwiches on campus and then taking her friends to Subway too. Hence Go Kyung Pyo and Park Bo Gum eating at Subway in screenshot above 😛
Haha. Tomorrow’s Cantabile was my first drama and I didn’t know about ppl so I was just “why are they always eating at Subway? I didn’t even know South Korea had Subway.”
I was LOLing so hard when they finally filmed inside the Subway restaurant…I think it was the first kdrama where I noticed the Subway PPL and it was just so heavy-handed
I went to S Korea early this summer and after a few days we started craving american breakfast so we hit up the local Subway and were so happy to have eggs and hash browns there since Korea doesn’t do breakfast the way that the West does.
Had a tough week at work…gonna go sulk in the corner ala weird second male lead from My Girlfriend is a Nine Tailed Fox who I never fully understood. His theme song is legit doe.
So I recently finished My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and started Flower Boy Next Door and the character Enrique is basically the male version of Shin Mina’s Gumiho character. They’re both just puppies as persons lol. Anyway I’m kinda obsessed with this super cute video and song…10 cm is some of the best Korean music I’ve heard.
Bride of Habaek is at its end this week…was a bit of a disappointment that this drama didn’t live up to its epic potential but ah well I stuck around to the confusing plot-holey end
Y’all I levelled up to Water Maid but i dunno what a water maid is. I haven’t watched enough sageuks! Recommend me one feat a water maid please?
In the meantime the closest thing I know would be So-ah, the water god servant
Finished I Remember You last night and this was my second kdrama that was not a rom-com. These are tough for me to watch cause we have all these hotties being creepy lol. Here’s my top 5 faves 😀
~I’m not feeling the supporting cast and I don’t find them funny.
~Male lead is truly pathetic and he’s a little slow, took him too long to realize he had the power to change his future. Also male lead is selfish and nothing he has done so far has made me warm up to him or even root for him.
~I still like Uee’s character the best, she’s the only one who doesn’t seem insane. Albeit her impatient texting makes her seem a bit self-absorbed.
~Less use of the narrator this time around but interesting choice to have a narrator interjecting sometimes.
~I liked the ending scene where we see how the little changes impacted his life greatly.
~Overall not sure if I’ll continue but may give ep 3 a watch and then decide.
Random: I wanted to take a screenshot of a scene I did like from Manhole but Kocowa wouldn’t let me rewatch the episode and gave me this stupid message instead. See picture below, ugh.
It did that to me when I paused my phone to go to my laptop. You can watch as many times as you want, just no more than one device at a time.
Though you can only register the devices total, so that sucks.
Yes on their free service so I didn’t even have to create an account. Therefore the b.s. of streaming on multiple devices makes no sense if I don’t even have an account. I tried to replay the episode and it just wouldn’t let me. The thing with Kocowa is that their website is grammatically incorrect and things are nonsensical or contradictory. They need to hire a fluent English speaker to write for the website.
I really wanted to like this drama but after one episode I could not continue. Agree the male lead is not likable and if he had not fallen into the manhole he would still not change.
~This is wacky crazed humor and I LOLed maybe twice, not sure this is my sense of humor
~So far I like the female lead more than the male lead
~The male lead is insane and most definitely has not been in love for 28 years, it’s fine to say she’s my lifelong love but shut it about “twenty eight years”
~We have a narrator introducing all the characters…interesting
~Way too much screaming going on in the first ep.
~Also so much second hand embarrassment
~I give every kdrama 2 eps to impress me so I’ll watch tonight again, hope that the time travel improves things
Random:
~I heard Red Velvet’s “Red Flavor” playing during the bar scene (yay for my very limited kpop knowledge)
~La La Land movie reference
Yay 🙂 I’m so glad I watched Secret Garden. I usually don’t like body switching freaky friday stuff, but this show was done so well and it’s even in my top 5. I loved Hyun Bin’s character.
Seven Day Queen has broken my heart…at ep. 16 which I watched last night and cried buckets of tears for. Will watch episode 18 tomorrow and we’ll see how I handle the finale next week. </3
Kind of, it’s like this wall they have at a hallway for one of the entrances of the Lotte department store in Myeongdong. They had handprints for Lee Min Ho, Lee Jong Suk, Ji Chang Wook, and others. I think it was the guys from the Seven First Kisses ad that Lotte did on Youtube. I kind of bumped into it by accident…that’s my favorite thing about Seoul, how there’s something interesting in like every corner or street alley 😀
