    Lan Wangji is truly an ethereal beauty, yet manly and glorious with lots of dignity (except when he’s drunk!!)… I can’t imagine anyone other than Wang Yibo nailing this role… he even beats Gong-gil’s ethereal beauty for me!!

      Yeah, I think Wang Yibo brought Lan Wangji to life and more. Besides selective reading for better understanding, I have not read the entire novel. But I did start a little and thinking back to the drama, I was totally amazed because it was as if Yibo and Xiao Zhan as Lang Wangji and Wei Wuxian stepped out of the pages and came to life.

        Drunken Hanguang-Jun was the cutest things I’ve ever seen!!
        I also browsed through a few chapters of the GDC novel and was amazed how much Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan imitated Lang Wangji and Wei Wuxian (which is a lot of times not the case when they adapting a manga)… and their beauty and their their personality differences complement each other like a masterpiece

        They both did a great job. I can’t imagine anyone else being WWX or LWJ. Both WYB and XZ brought their characters to life for me.

        Though the drama did ‘mature’ WWX up. He was a lot more shameless, silly and immature in the novel. Which I liked, but I also really liked his more mature, less shameless version in the drama. They were similar, yet different but I liked both takes on the character.

        But Lan Wangji was pretty spot on (just not as aggressive with WWX like in the novel, which needed to be removed due to censors).
