My coworker brought in some Korean energy drinks to the office today. I drank a bottle. Let’s see if shit gets crazy.

It’s not bad. It was a bit like a cross between cough syrup and flat Mountain Dew. If I feel more energetic, I might have to buy some at the Korean grocery. My coworker’s sister sent her a ton from when she was stationed in Korea.

You have a Korean store? So lucky! I would taste makgeolli, jajangmyeon and other delicacies…and buy some real kimchi!

I absolutely love my Korean supermarket, it is literally the coolest grocery store I have ever seen. It is huge, and sells foods from around the globe. Plus, it has a food circle, a Korean BBQ restaurant, a beauty store, and a bar!! So I can go buy fresh kimchi check out and then go eat some bibimbap. The store is so cool, when people visit I feel the need to take them there. Hahahahaha

I’ve been to Hmart and Lottemart in Maryland and some large groceries in San Diego and wish I had something like them here. We just don’t have the population for it. Oddly, I didn’t go to any groceries when I was in Seoul.

We have a few but they don’t sell alcohol. We can’t get makgeolli around here (Louisville, KY) as far as I know. I don’t like it much anyway. It’s not bad but not something I enjoy drinking. I can get soju at the liquor store though. One of the stores does sell homemade kimchi sometimes And It’s so good. They have a little snack bar and sell kimbap.

Living in California there are tons of asian groceries. This is the first Korean one I have seen though and the first one that is so much more than a grocery store. They sell all sorts of spirits, bought myself some soju (don’t know how they can drink it like water) but I have yet to buy makgeolli. They have a Russian section with crazy drinks!! I am very afraid to try. Hahaha

There is an Hmart just one town over from me. The perks of living in the suburbs of Chicago lol. We also have a Mitsuwa in the area but it is far from me.

I have never heard of HMart. It sounds like a ripoff K-Mart. Haha. Must be a midwest/east coast store.

I know it is an unfortunate name LOL. I didn’t realize it wasn’t a national chain! I used to get ads for it all the time on DramaFever. That’s actually how I found out about it, haha. It’s gigantic.

Why do I live in a backward town, lost in France where people just discovered a Chinese grocery store and look at me with big eyes when I say that I buy stuff there?! But unfortunately, even if they do have a couple of Korean stuff, like soju, ramyeon and kim, there aren’t a lot of things!
