From party girl to bottom of the Confucian ladder
First, a disclaimer: This movie is probably going to suck.
But, I’m just glad to see Park Jin-woo acting in something again. Not that he’s been completely out of work — he apparently had a role in the sageuk drama Bichunmu, although that series was actually shot four years ago.
But I really liked him in the funny and heartwarming comedy Bad Family (Arrested Development, kdrama-style, sorta), the teen sex romp Dasepo Naughty Girls (even though the movie was kinda meh), and 2004’s My Little Bride as Moon Geun Young’s age-appropriate boyfriend. Oh, and can’t forget him in Nonstop 5. His projects haven’t exactly been artistically challenging, but I’ve always thought he was better than his roles. His comic sense is pretty decent for a guy who could coast by as a mere heartthrob if he wanted; he’s got a willingness to make a fool of himself that I dig (Bad Family). (Although, I’d like to see him take the Kim Hye Sung route and really push himself).
This time he’s starring in a romantic-comedy movie with Park Jung-ah of sexed-up kpop girl group Jewelry, Nal-na-ri jong-bu-jeon [날나리 종부전] (I don’t know a good translation for the title, but it basically means a party girl becoming devoted housewife).
The story involves a materialistic wild child (Park Jung-ah) who’s never met a man whose head she couldn’t turn with her flirty good looks. Then she meets one whose indifference stings her pride (Park Jin-woo) and before you know it, they’re married. One problem: He’s the only son from a rigidly traditional family. Hijinks ensue. (Sounds kind of like Vineyard Man and Bad Couple given the farce treatment.)
The movie had its press conference on May 14 in Seoul and releases on May 22.

wow. i’m going to watch it just to see how bad it is. (whoah, where’d the rest of my comment go?) anyhow, never was a fan of his acting. decent looks, improved acting, still not up to par to take on a leading role. with park jung ah, out of all people. from what i recall, she failed miserably when she tried acting in a drama long ago. i’m surprised she took on this role. hmm.
he’s also in Unstoppable Marriage as the main girl, Miho’s, cousin, a cheap “cool guy” who only talks lies. he plays a doctor but he never has any money. weird lol
he is such a cool actor!

yeah he’s in it, but he joined like half-way through. i suppose he was supposed to be a guest role, but he’s been on the show for like 40 episodes and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to leave.
i like this kid in that movie “my little bride”…he has a little resemblance of won bin….the female lead seems a little older looking for him..(:
THIS is the guy who played Moon Geunyoung’s baseball playing bf in My Little Bride??! I always thought that kid was cute. Who would have known he grew up to be sucha charming funny guy. (I just realized he’s actually probably about the same age as Kim Rae Won!). I’m currently watching him in Unstoppable Marriage. I love all his high tales and “love triangle” with the other two guys…his BFFs, lol. In the sitcom, the main male character and another side male character bond over competition and all the lies they make up about themselves to look better than the other.
Oh oh oh, I love him. Too bad this movie doesn’t sound as promising as I would hope it would. I hope he acts in something really great in the future.

It was pretty alright.. nothing special.. it’s probably going to go down as a typical failed comedy flic. But I must admit Park Jin Woo’s cute.. he has the boyish charm that you can’t resist.. will probably watch it for him.As for Park Jung Ah, no comments…cos for all I’ve never seen her act..
I watch Unstoppable Marriage now and when he started coming on the show I didn’t know who he was - I really like his role on the show too - I agree with Sunah; the three men being BFFs is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too funny and cute! Goo-Wang-Cha! Hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! If his role in his new movie is anything like the one his playing now in UM, then I might actually watch the movie (eventhough I’m not really into K-moview, just K-dramas)
so that’s who park jung ah is.. her silver partyworld tablecloth toga is none too flattering.. & if i hear “baby, one more time” one more time i’m gonna start breaking windows >_
oooo… so he’s that cute boy in ‘my little bride’. i was in k-movies bfr but now switch to k-dramas since i hv more time now :-)… he’s ok, not really a heavyweight.. might get the dvd IF i see it in the shop
PARK JIN WOO! *squee* I won’t be surprised if the movie isn’t too good, but it’s probably something you could watch to pass one of those lazy afternoons.
he appears for a good chunk of episodes in 못말리는 결혼. enough that he gets a love line ;D
ohh..that’s why the guy looks familiar, he was in the k-movie My Little Bride. He’s cute, seems like a pretty good actor. And I don’t know if anyone have noticed that he looks like Won Bin. I think I’ll watch this =)

I agree, he isn’t all that great of an actor but he is very pleasing to the eyes.
