Han Ye-seul, Song Joong-ki’s Penny-Pinching Romance

Filming ended a few weeks ago on Han Ye-seul and Song Joong-ki‘s new film, Penny-Pinching Romance, which gives us these new stills of the two leads. The title alludes to a saying that means roughly “a penny saved is a penny earned,” and refers to Han’s frugal character.
The plot sounds cute, and the new title certainly reflects it better than its former title, Although I Was Born. In it, Song Joong-ki plays Ji-woong, an unemployed guy who can’t hold onto a girl since he hasn’t got a dime to his name. He therefore develops his skills at earning money — and happens to meet Hong-shil, our dogged, tightwad heroine whose sole goal in life is to earn money. Together, they embark on an “impossible partnership” with the goal of raising 200 million won ($150K).
Two beautiful people, a noona-dongsaeng romance, and an impossible mission? Classic rom-com hijinks are bound to ensue. (And who could resist the adorably puppy-ish Song Joong-ki pouting and calling Han Ye-seul noona? Gah, I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle that level of cute. Although there’s always this, in case that’s not enough for ya.)
The romantic comedy plans to release later this year; meanwhile, both Han and Song have upcoming dramas on their schedules (though not together). Han plays a spy who falls for Hallyu star Eric in the (hopefully zippy) romance Myung-wol the Spy, while Song takes on the role of a future king in Tree With Deep Roots.

Anything with Song Joong-Ki in it, I'm up for. But I can't help wishing he'd get meatier roles where he can unleash some drama. I really enjoyed his layered, depth-under-the-flash Yeorim, and I want to see MOAR.

Erm, sounds great but I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around Ji-wan and Ji-yong romancing each other and stuff.
The premise reminds me of Miss Kim's Million Dollar Project, does anyone remember that drama with Kim Hyun-joo?

And is that a Rooftop Apartment I see?
Someday I want to take a vacation to Seoul and rent a rooftop apartment and sit out on the little wooden platform thing on the patio and stare up at the night sky or the city lights and pretend I'm a plucky Candy heroine in a drama, trying to choose between the rich chaebol and poor waiter who are both in love with me.

As a hopeless Joong Ki fan, I've been desperately waiting for this movie since I first heard about it! I think Joong Ki is the perfect guy to act in a rom-com movie which is about a noona-dongsaeng romance (well, isn't he the notorious "noona-killer" after all? LOL ) I don't think any older woman (including me, being 1 year older than him) can resist his unbearable cuteness! ^^ But I also agree with the other fans who want to see him in a different role than the ones he has played so far: He has either been the mischievous fashionista (a.k.a Yeorim), or the cute and innocent (and sometimes a little bit clumsy) boy; but he was never a rough and though, manly character. Perhaps he's too cute for those roles? True, but still, I would like to see him as a though guy once, since with his acting capabilities I'm sure he'll be able to pull that off as well...
