Widows of Malabar Hill by Sujata Massey. This is my push book of the last few months, and I highly recommend it.
I just received my copy of Black Leopard Red Wolf by Marlon James (who I have a not-so-secret literary crush on), that I can’t wait to crack open. It’s been described as an African Game of Thrones. But knowing James, it likely much much more. I also just read that it will be a trilogy telling the story from three different unreliable perspectives. This intrigues me.
I’ve just finished the EN vs of How to travel with a salmon by Umberto Eco (essays, hilarious); also Fruit of the Antilles and Carribean fish (in FR, beach reading since I was on holidays last week). Can’t remember the last novel I’ve finished… it’s been a long time. I keep starting things and then getting distracted on the way.
The Wayward Children novellas by Seanan McGuire. So far 4 novellas. Read Every Heart is a Doorway first, then it doesn’t really matter the order.
I’m also reading Unmarriageable by Soniah Kamal. It’s sold as a Pakistani retelling of Pride and Prejudice. It is but it seems more; like she took the themes and actually updated them while really reflecting the culture. So far it’s not as satirical as the original but just as observant in its own way.

I listened to an interview of him (Marlon James) this week. I love when he’s on tv.

Wow I’m loving these suggestions! Thank you, I’m going to the bookstore this weekend to check them out 🙂
I feel like I’ve gotten into a rut, reading the same bland books again! So it’s lovely to try something new 😁
