Finally had time to catch up on WWW. I’m on ep 9 and I’m totally in love with Scarlet! Her storyline is the highlight of the show for me. I love everything about this show except Bae Tae Mi’s romance with Park Morgan. I’m way more invested in Song Ga-Kyung and her dysfunctional relationship with her husband. He seems to care for her so I want more backstory and a twisted part of me is rooting for them. I especially loved her standing up to her mother-in-law.

Jang Ki-Young is good to look at. He’s sometimes distracting but his role, here, does nothing for me. I’m kinda bored of their relationship. I completely understand where BTM is coming from but it feels like they’ve been playing the ‘let’s date – no, let’s not date’ game for 8 episodes and it has exhausted me.
It also doesn’t help that I think Park Morgan deserves someone who’ll put in just as much energy as he is putting into the relationship. It just seems so one-sided. It’s always about her. She pulls and pushes.

I don’t agree with BTM on a lot of things but I still like her as a character because she’s somewhat different. I guess that’s why I like the show. I don’t necessarily like some of the characters and what they do, I just like how it’s a different narrative from what were used to. It has its flaws (they should really cut back on the ‘light-thingy’ they’re doing) and BTM and PM’s scenes feel like a different drama but still, I enjoy it. I enjoy the dynamic between all the other characters way too much.

On a side note: was that all to Lee Dong Wook’s cameo? Really? I was so excited to see him. I’d dropped Produce x 101 (that I only watched because of him and then continued because of him and the talented boys but still, he played a huge factor) because of exams. I want to see more!

I honestly think this hasn’t been a good role for Jang Ki-Young at all. I keep imagining other actors playing the Park Morgan part and doing something very different with it.

It’s partially because of the writing – he has become a male pot plant where his only function in the drama is to start change in BTM’s character. But, I also think he plays him too bland, so it’s become all about the way he looks. And the direction and the lighting doesn’t help. (and neither does the fact that the guy who plays the actor is great, with one of those faces that make me smile when he smiles)

I am a little (a lot) behind on the show but I felt exactly as you did. Specially in scenes where PM talked and he had a singke shot he paled a lot in comparison to ISJ who emoted more even if she was silent. I really like JKY but he has a long way to go and the all the actresses are acing in their roles so it seems like he is underacting. Kind of reminds me of Go Kyung Po in Jealousy Incarnate. They both tried but the senior actors were way too good for them to pale in comparison.
Plus I also feel like maybe his role is a spin on the potted plant theory. Just like the female lead is in all male centric shows, his role here is related entirely to the female lead deliberately.
