Yay for a good ending, Rookie Historian! So happy about how everyone ended up.

    Spoilers ahead —

I found the bloody rebellion at the beginning hard to watch, so I was really glad that the restoration took place without any visible bloodshed. I’m glad to know the circumstances that compelled big brother Goo to betray Soraewon. I’m glad the Second Councillor met his end offscreen. I’m glad the king appeared to have retired, and that the Crown Prince got to be king after all. I’m glad Dowon/Yi Rim and Hae-Ryung worked out an arrangement that suits them both, even if I’m skeptical it would have been accepted in their time. I’m glad SH found her place as a teacher. (And did the Crown Princess also get free of her marriage?) Finally, YAY for the historians, truth won out in the end!

Jae kyung was so young and was literally given the choice of doing that or watching his friend did. I mean , there was not a good option either way and to have that eat at you for 20 years on top of being a kid raising a kid.

Did the King retire? I thought he met the same fate as Second Chancellor Min. I just can’t see the Queen keeping him alive.

Yes, the Crown Princess did get her divorce. She mentioned it while saying she was tired of wearing mourning clothes.

I am so glad that this series did not have couples getting together for the sake of it. The show in the end was not about that.

Especially happy to walk away from this drama with warm feelings, not frustrated at aimless plot lines or useless characters or things that should have happened but didn’t or things that happened but shouldn’t have. Not that this show didn’t have its failings, but what it did right just drowned them all out.

I do have a complaint though. 40 episodes and we only got Seol-guem and Rim’s court together for one a 2 minute scene.

      Criminal. Criminal.
