Cooling My Enthusiasm Swifty episode 6. Only, like, a few days (a few weeks at most) have passed from Dong-chan’s perspective. How can he go from madly in love to apathetic re Ha-young so fast?
Oh, the anger is all I see in his scenes with her. Most of the time he doesnt even look at her, he looks through her. He just seems so disgusted with her–especially every time she insists that their relationship isnt over. I do think him moving on to Mi-Ran is happening too quickly. But, it also feels natural, to me. He’s focused on her because of this terrible thing that happened and he feel responsible, especially since shes in danger and her health, but as hes watching hes becoming attracted.
He was crazy in love with Ha-young before. They were engaged. I get being angry. In fact, white hot fury makes sense. But it doesn’t seem like anger or disgust, it seems like he’s done with her and just wants to move on with his life.
I think thats where you and I are seeing differently. Im seeing his “done with her” as white hot fury, and you’re seeing it as apathetic. We’re reading each scene differently.
I would even say that most of this past episode it looked like he was looking at Mi-ran in a platonic fashion, enjoying her energy and her prettiness but not really there yet in terms of wanting/liking her. But they showed kissy-faced shenanigans in the previews and I realized I was wrong!

Because my friend, those feelings got frozen then thawed in a lightning speed and now completely dissipate. ☃️☄🌊

I guess love is like broccoli: it can’t go from to hot to cold to hot again with tasting mushy and kinda gross.

I don’t think he’s apathetic, I think he’s pissed the eff off and he’s trying to not show it because it was 20 years ago for her.

I don’t know. It’s not portrayed that way. He says he “loved” her and he seems to already move his focus to Mi-ran.

I just think both developments are too fast.
He was crazy in love with Ha-young before. They were engaged. I get being angry. In fact, white hot fury makes sense. But it doesn’t seem like anger or disgust, it seems like he’s done with her and just wants to move on with his life.
