(Note: Follow along with this playlist on Spotify.)

Even despite Kyung’s reveal, Dan-oh is devastated at Haru’s disappearance. She laments that nobody seems to remember him. (I Don’t Wanna Live Forever):

I don’t wanna live forever, ’cause I know I’ll be living in vain
And I don’t wanna fit wherever
I just wanna keep calling your name until you come back home…

Kyung, now self-aware, is slowly coming to realize, thanks to Dan-oh, that he has a little more agency in the Shadow than he thought, especially when it comes to his Dad. (You’re Not Sorry):

All this time I was wasting
Hoping you would come around
I’ve been giving out chances every time
And all you do is let me down…

There’s a super fun sports day at school and Haru miraculously reappears – shocking everyone. Haru’s presence around school is making Dan-oh feel even worse than when he disappeared. She tells him to stop acting like the old him because he isn’t himself anymore. (Haunted):

Something’s gone terribly wrong, you’re all I wanted
Come on, come on don’t leave me like this…

Dan-oh and Kyung have a moment at the swings near her house, he’s actually acting like a decent human and she somewhat forgives him for being a jerk all this time. (Back to December):

So this is me swallowing my pride
Standing in front of you saying I’m sorry for that night…

Haru is starting to remember things from another time, specifically about Dan-oh, and starts to watch her more closely. He tries to understand what it all means. (Gorgeous):

You’re so gorgeous
I can’t say anything to your face…

Dan-oh is having a rough go of it, between her illness and her soon-to-be wedding to Kyung, she’s seemingly giving up on going against the writer’s wishes. As she’s sadly wandering the streets, Haru shows up – this time his memories are totally intact and he’s back to his old self. (King of my Heart):

And all at once, you are the one I have been waiting for…

Meanwhile, Jin-michae is burning a copy of the ‘other’ comic book that’s been lurking around – the one that matches Haru’s dreams of a past life. (Heartless – an interruption by Kanye West):

In the night, I hear ’em talk
The coldest story ever told
Somewhere far along this road, he lost his soul to a woman so heartless
How could you be so heartless?

This is so much fun! Thanks 😀

I’m not a big TSwift fan myself, but have you used “Teardrops on My Guitar” or “I Knew You Were Trouble” yet?

Thanks! I’m having a lot of fun puzzling this together. Wasn’t sure how fellow fans would respond. 🙂

I haven’t used either of those yet! Though I was close to using “I Knew You Were Trouble” earlier. I’ll have to keep them in my queue – I feel like Do hwa would definitely suit “Teardrops” at some point with his violin skills and all. Kinda makes sense.

Keep it up! I’m enjoying them.
I feel like Nam Joo’s mom could fit the “I Knew You Were Trouble” refrain…
