She's definitely a non-favorite of mine and if she's the romantic lead, there's not enough in the overall story to entice me.

Effortlessly natural is a great description!

[Drama Chat] K-drama add-ons

It all depends on the drama, the actors, or my level of obsession because like @Unit says, it is exhausting and time-consuming and can 100% ruin the immersion. Sometimes I would watch the extras while the drama is on the air, and other times I'd watch after the drama ends if I can't move on. BTS and interviews are fine as the actors are still in character, but variety shows with the actor's real-life personality can ruin my immersion.

Since this Drama Chat is about Kim Soo-hyun, I was obsessed with Kim Soo-hyun during It's Okay to Not Be Okay, so I rewatched his Infinite Challenge episode from 2017 (I miss Mudo!), and his real-life personality is so different from his onscreen character that it took me out of the drama. I stan K-pop idols for their personalities, but I stan actors for their fictional characters.

That Winter, The Wind Blows: Episode 5

Thanks, @reply1988, Mother Bean! I SOOO appreciate a response even if you have not seen this drama! I wonder if anybody else has found this terrific drama in 2024 like me. I have totally enjoyed people's "squicky" responses to the faux-cest situation of the main couple...quite interesting to explore our values and boundaries through all these stories.

Thanks for the warm welcome. As I am a noob to Kdramas, I will be "late" to every discussion board, I am sure. I have decided to comment anyway, as a way to connect with new kindred spirits, some of whom might actually respond, like you, years after they've watched the shows I am only now discovering. :-) Here's to my terrific adventure with Kdramas.

watched it for Ryu Joon Yeol. didn't like it - too mean, violent, gory. set reminiscent of Squid Games, not sure why the playground/childlike set... not for me, but you might like it.

For example, I'm watching the interviews from the cast of Bridgerton 3, the actress playing Eloise is so funny!

After QIHM I was on the lookout for Ji Hyun-woo, but he's been in so many things that don't otherwise interest me for one reason or another that I've started to lose hope. Kim Boong-do will live forever, though.

I used to do that more too, and it is so worth it if you have a show you live for. Ask me about The Fiery Priest and I'll tell you all about it! That is where DB comes in too as you can talk to others with similar experiences on why they love a certain one so much!

@attiton uhm... a) I don't watch that drama, b) it's been 12 years, it's natural that people talk about his role from so long ago less, 3) I thought everyone already knows... Sorry.

P.S. I watched quite a few of his other works after QIHM and didn't like much any of them (except one utterly trashy movie where he was a loony villain, but it was so ewww and mind screwing I'd rather forget all of it). There, I said it. *hangs head in deep shame* It's fine tho, I will still adore him as Kim Boong Do forever!
