Ah. I misconstrued your meaning. Thanks for taking the time to soothe my anger, friend ;)

I was not talking about the endind of the show... I think they released the original script for the show but I don't know what was changed.

I was talking about some scenes when it's not about the text but the gestual like kiss scenes.

I too dislike the portrayal of women being virtually sexless and without desire. The concept of yielding as a reward to a man is loathsome and sets us back decades clutching our pearls.

Of course! First, I should note that a lot of thoughtful commentator-beanies are really enjoying this and/or are BIG fans of the writer. So, I think you should try it ;)

But for me, I felt that I could "tell" that they're going to dwell on the difficulties and oppressiveness of the Korean educational system as the main "villain" of the drama--and I find that super-depressing. I don't like watching it played out that the "way to get ahead" is to study harder/pay more money/memorize more. Yuck.

Crash Course in Romance dealt with this at a level I could handle and not get all squicky, but even there I had to mentally sort-of-pretend that it was about "fame" rather than "education."

Tl;dr: Too heavy on a topic that I find distressing without much hope that the drama would be about forging a better world in which education isn't about oppression but instead liberation.

1. Will watch anything with KSH.
2. This is unfortunate.
3. I'm really excited for this.
6. This looks fun, I hope it is.

Tbh, this is a huge reason why I've been enjoying c-drama this year. Relationships are so much more realistically presented, but still without being explicit. It's incredibly appealing after watching years of k-drama fish-eye kisses, awkward intimacy, and general lack of affection in romantic relationships. It's so rare that when I see it, I'm instantly more drawn to the story.

Gah. See? MAN it pisses me off to hear that they actually did a bunch of tests to decide on the ending for DWY...and then they picked THAT one!! I know many folks loved the way the end of that drama played out, but I did not.

To be clear, I'm not mad at you @kurama 🤣 I'm mad at the drama universe!!!! I want to live in my bubble where the last two episodes of that drama were just a bad dream and the writers were just lazy rather than it having been that they WORKED at that ending. 😭

Well, in truth, I actively avoid seeking out any/all additional information about the dramas, the actors, or any other material extrinsic to the episodes of dramas themselves.

I know full well that these humans have their own lives and I wish them all the best in their careers!! I'm here for the fiction though and I like to keep the two things (reality and fiction) quite separate.

I've been known to click on the BTS videos on the Fan Wall, but I almost always regret it because it usually saps the fun out of a drama for me--I start to think about what it was really like rather than staying immersed in the story.

I guess I have a very weak "willing suspension of disbelief" muscle! 🤣

For what it’s worth, I’m catching up with this now and it didn’t really click for me until the end of the first episode. Something about Go Kyung-pyo’s unfiltered comments just have me giggling, his expressions are a joy for me to watch lol!
