I'll be on the road for a month.

I'll think of Sonja's washboard stomach when I do my laundry and pat every Andre-lookalike I come across.

But it's 'still-got-to-grow-up' Da-mo I'll miss the most. Hopefully I won't come across to many like him in his present stage of life...and when I come back he'll have found a way to say what he really thinks rather than 'I want you to be my sister.' That's one terrible phrase...

Totally random post okay but forgive me.

I saw Kim Hyun Joong fishing for croakers during We Got Married.

Lee Jun Ming blended up croakers and drank it during an episode of Smile,You.

So I ordered fried croakers at this restaurant tonight.

OMG...so I did what a self respecting Asian is supposed to do with a whole fried crunchy fish.Actually several.

'crunch crunch' lips, then eyes then head.

Now I feel like puking. Some drama food does not translate well into reality.

Imma sticking to galbi and mandoo and bulgulgi from now on.

OMG 'facepalm'

I keep thinking about this: ‘crunch crunch’ lips, then eyes then head.

It's like probably one of the best lines written here. I don't know whether it wants to make me eat that more or less. I actually saw Hmart selling soondae, but I'm not a big sausage person in the first place. I have a feeling it could be tasty, but it's just not up my alley.

BAD COUPLE that's the next drama I'm going to recommend to my sister. I laughed my ass off for most of the drama. It does have a sad twist but they don't really linger on it. Or maybe they do, I just remember laughing a lot and crying because of how sweet ryu soo young was.

@bro
Gisaeng was good today, bit of a transitional episode, and with that carrot they've been dangling in front of our noses right from the get-go -- it finaf**kingly happened!
Damo -- I was like, whut? No paralysis? What was the point of that then? Haha!
But Gong-joo beating his date in the toilets was AWESOME! Can her and Rara please form a tag team forever?

Dae Jo-yeong:
Still trudging through and it's still good. Some annoying aspects, but overall, it's still good. Kim Jung-hyun is kinda my favourite right now. Choi Cheol-ho is surprisingly turning in a pretty flawless performance. Yet I still shudder when I think he was one of the contenders to play Giant's Seong-mo. No way man, No. WAY! Park Sang-min OWNed it.

I was all excited and then the horse let me down. C'mon horse. Rara and Gong-joo are the reason I still watch the show, they make a good team.

So.
I totally watched episode 1 and half of episode 2 of Crime Squad at about 11pm last night. Then I went to sleep and actually dreamed that I logged onto Dramabeans to ask if anyone watches it. Then, in my dream, someone replied "Don't waste your time". My subconscious is getting so boring I dream about the internet. WE MUST GO DEEPER-

Then I woke back up at about 4am and watched the rest of episode 2. This show. Oh man. It's so bad it's like.. good? I don't know. I'm almost ready to recap it - the only way I know how - with infographics. It's going to be my thing to watch this show before, during or after I sleep.

Heys janna,
I would've saved all this for a juicy, salaciously gossipy email, but these two weeks have been the CRAZIEST, most eventful, stressful weeks of my life. The fortnight where everything unimaginable happened.
I'll spill the boring stuff here:
You know how there've been major jobs cuts in the public sector of a certain country... (I mean, good it happened. This new party has actually made solid decisions!) I kind of was one of those unfortunate souls, and have spent so many nights since filling in job applications... And today I landed a really good job! A really good one and not a shiteous one, considering how desperate I was.
I'm so happy I could cry. And now... I can sleep at night, like normal people do... Knowing that I won't have to do all sortsa crazy stuff to make rent money, like y'know... star in a daily drama or something. *gaaspp*

WTF! Not a fortnight at all, it's all been happening in the space of a week. A week!
Anyway, all that behind me....

Crime Squad -- kinda flying below the radar, yo.
I guess I've got enough to watch anyways: Gisaeng, Dae Jo Yeong and Flames of Ambition. And maybe 49 Days as a fun guilty pleasure, but it may burn me like PP did if they don't make Yi Kyung and Kang happen. If they make it any more about Ji Hyun, i'm out. I am SO bailin'!

Ummm. I have bad news and good news for you.

Bad News: Yi Kyung and Kang aren't going to happen
Good News: You're gonna hvae sooo much free time!..l. When you stop watching 49 days.

I don't get the frantic must-pair-everyone dynamic going on with fans of 49 Days. It's cool and all I guess. At the moment I'd be happy if Yi-Kyung just didn't feel like falling from a ledge and living her life, and Ji-Hyun ditched her fiancee and also moved on. Maybe they don't need men to validate their existence!

... Oh wait this is a Kdrama, nevermind.

Before I burn some bridges, let me say I'm not a sour cranky loveless whiner, I like Kang and Ji-hyun. I'm fine with this pairing.

You're watching Flames of Ambition? I thought you said you were indifferent on makjang. Apparently, you love it.

I blame my cat for all those spelling and typing errors. Cat, begone! I'm on dramabeans, show some respect! (!!!)

0

OK then. I'm not watching it then.
I'll just read the recaps then. And then if there's any indication that this coupling may actually happen, I'll jump back into the show again. Er, then.

0

bro, you really don't know me?
I can pretty much watch anything, if it's done well. Never said I don't do makjang. I have a list of drama donts, but makjang was never on it. Now sloppy makjang is another story.

I kind of went into FoA licking my licks with anticipation after belleza had christened it 'arthouse makjang'.

Except now that I'm watching it, it's not actually makjang. It's high drama but not makjang, there is some WTFery in there, but it's purposeful-intentional WTFery. Thus fun.
Plus, the men are pretty useless (characters, not the acting) the women are absolutely fiiiierce!
Among those is Sung Hyun-ah, who bowled me over in Ja Myung-go by playing the kind of character I could easily resent but instead she was pretty epic. And in FoA she's potentially going the similar route. Eeeeeh... Exciting.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. Well, I am definitely someone who wouldn't watch that show. Because it apparently had the "r" word, which is not my cup of tea.

Yeah I really don't see the Kang Yi-kyung pairing considering that he hasn't even ever met her really, just keeps meeting Ji-Hyun in her body.

0

No need for apologies bro, I sound more serious than I intend to sometimes... I'm just hot air.
I get you about the R word. It's why I dropped it initially after the first couple of episodes. But then I heard it definitely wouldn't be resurfacing -- and it hasn't -- yet.

I know man, about 49 Days. I don't know, I kind of got the idea she was actually dead. Or rather she'd definitely die in the end, judging by the way the events turned in the first episode, yet... Ehhh... Forgerrit. It's a fluffy romance after all.
Can't bear it any longer. Watching my Jo Hyun-jae go to Nam Gyuri (as opposed to the unnie I'd selected for him) will be akin to Kim So-yeon choosing Park Shi-hoo over Han Jung-soo. It all comes back to bite me in the ask. I hate this writer. I really hate her. Bahhhh!

I've been looking over some new stuff to watch and thought I'd try looking for some of Park Sang-min's 90s dramas. I found this clip of A Sunny Place for The Young. A 1995 drama. I know you've not watched Sandglass but this drama released several months after it has a strong Sandglass theme going on, this scene, the same Russian guy singing a similar song to the song he sang on the Sandglass OST, and they've cast a lot of the same actors... Anyways... Enjoy...
Can I have a ''Hero shot! Hero shot!''?

Firefly might be the best American drama series I have ever seen. This is my third or fourth time watching it, and not only does it stay fun and interesting, but I keep picking new things.

Firefly is so much fun to watch. The fact that it didn't get extended is testament to why American tv is just not watchable anymore (seriously - can we have anymore housewives shows filled with selfimportant individuals with no value to society). All there are now are mindless reality shows now and laughtrack impregnated sitcoms that would be excruciatingly painful to watch if I ever developed masochistic tendencies.

Thank goodness for firefly.

@ brookeeve

Thanks for chatting with me about Hot Gimmick a few weeks ago, and letting me vent about what a Hot Mess it was.

Endodo asked me for my recs on mangas, so I did a post (way overdue), and didn't know if you might be interested.

If you are looking for some good manga recs, here you go!
