Kim So-yeon and Joo Jin-mo for Vogue

Kim So-yeon and Joo Jin-mo take to the pages of Vogue next month for a Coffee-themed shoot that I love: it’s full of intrigue and beautiful period-costume-inspired looks. I’m ridiculously excited for their movie to be out, a fusion historical action thriller about a set of spies who carry out a mission to assassinate a late-Joseon emperor via his coffee. Talk about a habit that’ll kill ya.
Kim So-yeon and Joo Jin-mo play a pair of international spies who team up for the job across enemy lines, and then happen to put everything at risk with their mutual attraction. The film takes place in the Russian embassy, where Emperor Gojong took refuge in 1896. The characters go by Russian names, which maybe makes them Russian nationals, though Joo Jin-mo is a double spy who has alliances elsewhere. The trailer and posters are head-turners, with their stylish modern take on a period thriller, so I sincerely hope the movie holds up to my expectations.
Coffee, directed by PD Jang Yoon-hyun of The King and the Clown, premieres in theaters March 15.

I was going to send you a list, but apparently she's done more shows than I'd realized. I've only seen her in All About Eve, Gourmet, IRIS, Prosecutor Princess, and Dr. Champ.

She looks kinda scary in those pics with her glare...
Actually, she's in more dramas than you guys think. It's just that she never really made it big after All About Eve like Chae Rim so most of the drama after that were unnoticed. If you look through her bio in Wiki, she can see that she had done a ton of dramas.

She had an interview after her rise in popularity with Iris, where she talked about being depressed after AAE because of the lack of offers/opportunities. That's why she vowed to deliver in all roles given to her, even if it's weird.
And it's true, right? I mean, she cut her hair short and got all beat up and became second lead in Iris but hers was the character that stood up the most.
Then she turned around and did clueless ditzy lawyer with questionable fashion sense in Prosecutor Princess. And it was still full of heart.
I love her, she's so awesome. :)

KSY is definitely beautiful but I have mixed feelings about these pics. Love the tone, the use of lace patterns and all that but the first picture looks kind of photoshopped? KSY's leg looks totally weird to me in that photograph?
And why is she glaring in all of them? I get more a sense of anger than mystery or intrigue (which I think would have worked better here).

biggest girl crush ever on KSY! for those who have not seen her in dramas before you MUST see prosecutor princess, she's super super cute in it. dr. champ is also a nice low key drama she was in too.

Thanks so much dramabeans for highlighting this.. guessing that Vogue's 'Cruel Intentions' theme had the actors looking serious and even more serious. ^^
Love KSY in the pictorials released ahead of the movie.. she can be chic and naughty in Cosmopolitan, sexy & mature in ArenaHomme+ and then simply stunning & striking in the Vogue spread. Can't wait for her on Movieweek, too. Soyeon-ssi, fighting!
