MBC welcomes back Goodbye Mr. Black

Why hello again, Goodbye Mr. Black! I’m glad to hear that the project isn’t dead after all, after SBS had dropped it from their schedule in favor of another drama, Remember. It was a surprise move, particularly since Goodbye Mr. Black had already lined up a solid cast, led by Lee Jin-wook (The Time I’ve Loved You), Moon Chae-won (Good Doctor), and Kim Kang-woo (Golden Cross).

Now MBC has picked it up, and while it isn’t common for a show to be picked up by one broadcaster, dropped, then picked up at another, it has happened before and I’m all for a show getting a second shot at life. Granted, I have no idea whether this drama will be good, but there was enough about the revenge-romance-melodrama premise to intrigue me, so I’d been sad when it got shelved.

Goodbye Mr. Black is based on a manhwa featuring a hero who’s betrayed by his best friend and lover, who then assumes a new identity to return and seek revenge. Lee Jin-wook will play that hero, and Moon Chae-won is the plucky young woman who pretends to be married to him to aid him in his plan. Their relationship eventually ends up healing him, but I hope not before he gets a taste of revenge — I don’t want him to lose his soul over it, but I always hanker for just a little payback to satisfy my bloodlust. Just a pound of flesh will do.

MBC will air Goodbye Mr. Black as a Wednesday-Thursday drama in early 2016.

It will be the same director Lee Chang Min who will work with GMB? It seems he works exclusively with SBS before? And isn't he who will direct Remember on SBS?

I can't wait to watch this drama >,< i love LJW and MCW

Btw, i hope GMB team can work with the stylists who work with KMHM...coz they gave good styles for ji sung in any personalities before, so i'm sure they can give the good one too for Lee Jin Wook, especially his haircut, better than him in TTWWNIL

For director, i would to pick the one who work with 'nice guy' or 'secret' for revenge drama theme

Welcome back Mr. Black. Lee Jin-Wook and Kim Kang-woo...Excellent. I was surprised when I read the series had been let go, and am not surprised it has been p/u by another. There's just too much talent already signed on to let it fade away.

I agree w/ a prior post, if you have something nasty to say about an actor/ress after it's announced they have a new gig, just keep it to yourself. These people have just as much right to earn a living as everyone else. If you don't like them, at least wait til you've actually watched the Drama before you let the negative comments role. We ALL have our "favorites" and we all want to watch their work.

Seriously agree w/ the comments about the hair parted down the middle. OMG that was an awful look LJW. I'm assuming he was forced to wear that mop head style. It hurt to look at him, and I normally like looking at him.

I actually really like Lee Jin-wook and disagree with that poster's assessment of his talent, but I think criticism of an actor/actress on the basis of their previous work, is absolutely fair game once a new project is announced.

Everyone has the right to work, sure, but everyone does not have the right to keep taking jobs in a field where they lack talent or ability, and where they have mucked up jobs in the past because they don't have the ability to do it. And viewers have every right to express their opinions, we just have to deal.

Lee Jin Uk is awesome in 9,Three Musketeers,and his last drama The Time We Were Not In Love with very different type of roles. Also very awesome in his younger age dramas like Formidable Rivals as President's son, and City Of Glass. He is a versatile actor,can deliver emotions very perfectly in any type of roles! just hope many fans recognize how amazing his acting and how talented he is. Very happy to watch him with a very talented actrees Moon Chae Won in upcoming drama Goodbye Mr.Black. Fighting LJW!

I am gonna love this drama, LJW is my fav Korea actor and MCW was awesome actrees with a natural beauty, perfect！I am looking forward to this drama, and also Kim Kang Woo,he was too great in Golden Cross,wowww！
This is my priority list in 2016 , thank you,MBC;-)
