Kim Seul-gi reunites with Oh My Ghostess crew on Weightlifting Fairy

A cameo from Kim Seul-gi (Second to Last Love) is just the thing to lift my mood and distract me from the fact that MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju is soon coming to an end. *SNIFF* The delightful little underdog drama about weightlifting heroine Lee Sung-kyung and her adorable friends-to-lovers romance with Nam Joo-hyuk comes from writer Yang Seung-hee of last year’s hit tvN rom-com Oh My Ghostess, which starred Kim Seul-gi as a lusty virgin ghost who inhabited Park Bo-young’s body (and kept trying to jump Jo Jung-seok’s bones).

That connection led Kim Seul-gi to film a cameo for Weightlifting Fairy, in which she also reunites with Oh My Ghostess co-star Kang Ki-young, who plays Bok-ju’s hapless Uncle Dae-ho. Kim Seul-gi will play an employee at the local supermarket in Bok-ju’s neighborhood, and her character will end up on a soju date with Uncle Dae-ho. Aw, but does that mean he gets dumped by Coach Choi? Or has he already been dumped and I’m just in denial about it?

Maybe if they use her cameo the same way they used Ji-soo’s or Seohyun’s in previous weeks—to incite jealousy in the pairs of friends who had lopsided feelings—it’ll be a way for Uncle Dae-ho to get Coach Choi back. Not that riding off into the sunset with the cute supermarket clerk wouldn’t be a good consolation prize. I don’t know if anything will top the hilarity of Nam Joo-hyuk flipping out in a jealous fit over Ji-soo being called “oppa” by his crush, but if anyone can be trusted to make the most out of a short comedic scene, it’s Kim Seul-gi.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju will end its run next Wednesday, January 11, after which MBC will air a special preview of its follow-up drama Missing 9 on January 12.

YES, Kim Seul-gi will certainly add sparkle to this already bright and beautiful drama.

It is one of the best I've seen in 2016! The two in the lead roles LEE SUNG-kyung and NAM JOO-hyuk, whose other dramas I've seen, are already there on my list of actors to watch out for. ??????

To be sure I will miss it when it ends next week BUT like I always do with dramas that I love, I will binge watch it again after a weekend alnd savor its highlights with a bag of popcorn and sparking blueberry grape juice. ???

It took me 2 years to pick up and watch Oh My Ghostess, and it also took me pretty long to finish it, and now that I've completed it I ask myself why in the world it took me so long to watch it?!! You will not regret watching Oh My Ghostess, it is just THAT good.

I loved Oh My Ghostess, and seriously wished for Jo Jung Seok's character to fall in love with the Ghost instead of the real-life woman, because honestly, it was the lusty ghost that changed her personality and attracted him. :P

I want Seul Gi and Yoon Do Joon in a comedy sageuk. I always thought that those two would be a great fit for My Sassy Girl. :P

I love how generous they are being with cameos in WF. KSG is so cute, I can't wait to see her scenes. Can I hope that they will bring Jo Jung Suk or Seo Kang Joon before the end of the series? More Oh My ghostess or CITT reunions would make my day. :)

Btw, have you guys noticed the awesome use of colors in this show? It's simply amazing, a very personal style, I like so much the color palette. And the clothes are always matching the scenery. I know that so many coats are unrealistic, but the visuals are stunning, haha!
There has to be a great professional team behind it. Just another detail to love this show.

As much as it is unrealistic, the color coordination in this series is just so aesthetically pleasing and compliments the respective scenes so well.

That's one of the reason I love this drama. Because I know the team producing this gem loves it just as much, through their attention to the smallest details.

Yay so excited for Episode 14 and her cameo! I'm literally counting down the hours. As much as I love her I can't but help still ship Uncle Dae-ho and Coach Choi. They are just hilarious and cute together, hopefully the appearance of Kim Seul-gi will wake up coach and stir up her feelings for samchoon! I want a happy closure for the two soon, and more importantly so the remaining episodes can focus on closing out the main storylines.

I'm not even watching (yes, I know... idk what I'm thinking...), but maybe he asked Kim Seul-gi's character for a favor to make the lady coach jealous? Would've never guessed that lady couch would be paired up with the uncle. I thought she'd be together with the main coach (Taeki's appa!)... I should just pick it back up again, huh?
