Our Beloved Summer ended with highest rating and it was one of the Kdramas with the highest-rated final episode! Wow, good and great job, and congrats to our OBS cast and crew!

Like One Beloved Summer, Ghost Doctor delivered its highest rating ever!

I think Kdramas on three non-cable channels KBS (both KBS1 and KBS2), MBC and SBS should be taking break for three weeks to give way for the 2022 Winter Olympics coverage. Moonshine, Young Lady and Gentleman and The King of Tears, Lee Bang-Won should be joining Through the Darkness with the three-week break to give way for 2022 Winter Olympics coverage. So far, no official announcement yet until further notice. Let's hopeful whether be joining this or not. But first, Moonshine will not be airing the episodes this week (January 31-February 1) due to Lunar Chinese New Year holiday. I am glad that major cable channels TvN and JTBC continued its regular broadcasting with few days left before both TvN and JTBC new Kdramas (TvN's Twenty Five Twenty One and Kill Heel, JTBC's Forecasting Love and Weather and Thrty-Nine) are coming.

As for Tracer, the all 8 season 2 episodes will be available on Wavve only on February 18 so I might think that whether MBC should continue broadcasting Tracer after 2022 Winter Olympics or not so no official announcement yet.

MBC already promoted on their sns that Tracer will return on Feb 25th :) I’m a bit skeptical about this move too but the rating of Ep 8 was really good and significantly higher than the other dramas in its timeslot despite being pre-released a day before on wavve. It was technically a rerun. So even if the whole s2 is going to be pre-released on wavve, maybe it’ll perform as good or even better than s1.

I hope it continues to perform well for MBC even with all the episodes out there. This whole thing baffles me though. This potentially hurts MBC but they knew the Olympics were coming, presumably they discussed scheduling with wavve beforehand. Or maybe not. But surely there were other ways this could have been handled.

This scheduling thing with mbc is probably part of wavve’s plan to get more subscribers. Wavve is partly operated by mbc, along with 3 other channels (sbs, kbs, ebs). Also, during the first month of Tracer’s filming, someone from the production posted an info that it will be divided into 2 seasons. The ending of S1 was really good and looked like a legit season ender.

Vike is showing the next episode of YOUNG LADY AND GENTLEMAN as airing in six days. Perhaps weekenders are handled differently (or Viki did not get the memo).

I heard a lot of nice things about My Beloved Summer on SNS, however 5.3% is considered a failure for a major broadcasting company like SBS. That rating for tvN is considered a success.

Congratulations to Uncle! The characters were (mostly) so endearing although I missed the bar group who sort of fell off the edge of the earth halfway through. It really harkened back to old style kdramas in that … how could so many bad things happen to one family? 🤣
Oh Jung Se is a marvel.

Oh Jung Se is a marvel. I'm glad he had a successful turn as a leading man. Bulgasal had the big budget and Snowdrop the hype but Uncle quietly snuck up and became the ratings winner.

I cried through the last twenty minutes of the Snowdrop finale.

Wow! My watch list is strewn with so many Kdramas started but never finished! I'm wondering if Kdramas are starting to lose their attraction for me. I think I'll give Uncle a whirl next and hope it holds my interest long enough to finish.
