Drama viewership ratings for the week of Jun. 6-12, 2022

Four (yes, four!) dramas came to a close this week — some with a bang (Our Blues at almost 15%!), and some with a whimper (Love All Play, Shooting Stars). Showtime Begins! landed somewhere in between a bang and a whimper, but if the ratings are teaching us anything lately it’s that… they’re just numbers. But then again, if you’re Seo Hyun-jin and your drama already hit double digits by its second week, the numbers are good numbers.

The two lowest-rated dramas Love All Play and Sh**ting Stars are my favorite dramas of the year, and their OTPs Park Ju-hyun and Chae Jong-hyeop and Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-dae are my favorite OTPs. There's just something that donggap romances have that other romances don't.

Shooting Stars deserved a much larger audience, hoping it will develop a cult following similar to Moon Lovers, Healer and Weightlifting fairy after they all flopped on television.

I did not expect "Why Her" to become such a hit, but i understand why after watching the first 2 episodes. Seo Hyun-jin is absolutely fabulous that role, the drama itself is at its strongest when it largely focuses on her.

Single digit on public channel pre simulcasting on streaming platform is a flop.

Poor Love All Play deserved better :(
I understand how viewership dropped after the halfway point, but the first 8 eps or so were pretty good, imo, yet it still got quite disappointing ratings.
At least it didn't end on its lowest numbers ever.
Still one of my favorites this year <3

Our Blues truly deserved its high ratings. I could watch another 20 episodes of stories set on Jeju Island.

I’m glad to see Red Heart’s ratings rise a bit this week. I hope they continue to rise for the final four episodes. The drama deserves much higher ratings.

It seems all SBS needs to do on Friday-Saturday is air one-man/woman legal dramas dealing with corruption, and they have a hit.

I’m glad Insider’s second episode rose, but I feel sorry for any dramas scheduled on Wed-Thurs.

I said this before, I think, but Shooting Stars might have been better off aired exclusively on TVING, like Yumi's Cells 2.

I am disappointed by the lack of love which SHOOTING STARS received- it was a good show and deserved better.

In contrast, OUR BLUES deserved the high ratings.

Maybe because it has FINALLY begun to edge out of extended romcom territory into becoming a true family drama IT'S BEAUTIFUL NOW is starting to edge up into more normal weekender numbers. It deserves the love- this is a nice show about normal people with some normal issues- no makjang needed. I am not the only one who has really enjoyed this.

All the light and fluffy stuff ended in the same time 😥

I'm not interested by Jinxed at First and there is no scheduled rom-com.

I guess it will be the good time to re-watch Racket Boys :p

Love All Play and Shooting Stars deserved so much better. Two really solid dramas (mostly) with great OTPs. Domestic audiences are missing out, just sayin’.

I’m happy to see Bloody Heart finally increasing its ratings even by a little bit. This one should be a gem, not an underrated gem.

The Friday-Saturday time slot for SBS has been a gold mine. Just put an actor with a strong presence in a one-man show about fighting corruption and you get consistent double-digit ratings. They could do this forever. I’m happy for Seo Hyun-jin, Hwang In-yeop, and Bae In-hyuk’s careers if nothing else.

Wow the ratings for SS for the last two eps are still very low. I just don’t know what to say. 😦

I took the plunge yesterday and watched the first two episodes of JTBC’s INSIDER. Kang Ha-neul gave a solid performance and was also excellent in the action sequences including several where he had to take a beating. Shades of PRISON PLAYBOOK with the appearance back in prison of Choi Moo-sung, terrific as always and he filmed this before he lost all that weight (I am presuming). The ratings may increase but I have a feeling INSIDE will find and hold a niche audience who will stick with it.

I think the heavily packed weekend since a couple of months have messed up the ratings lol. Also, I expected Eve and Doctor Lawyer to have much higher ratings before they started. Kinda curious to know why they're not as high. But I think now that Our Blues is done, we'll see a different distribution of viewership. My absolute most favourite of all of these was Sh**ting Stars. They don't really do old-fashioned, nostalgic tropes like this anymore and western viewers love hating on them too. Hope there are more shows like this. There's too many "cool", "woke" or whatever stuff around.

Ditto this. I’d like us to have more shows that are similar to Sh**ting Stars. I find it very endearing, funny, and wholesome.
