It’s a groom face-off in new posters for tvN’s Love in Contract

I shouldn’t love the sound of tvN’s Love in Contract as much as I do… but if contract romance is your drama catnip, this drama promises it in spades doubles.

Starring Park Min-young (Forecasting Love and Weather), the story follows our heroine Choi Sang-eun, who cosplays the perfect wife for men who want to stay single, but need to appear married for pesky social, financial, and/or familial reasons. Her long-time client is Jung Ji-ho — played by Go Kyung-pyo (Private Lives) — and he has been her Mon-Wed-Fri “husband” for over five years. We see the couple in their new poster, with Jung Ji-ho’s caption saying that Sang-eun spends her Mon-Wed-Fri evenings with him, while Sang-eun’s caption announces that she only does marriage without love in the equation.

Things start to get more complicated when Sang-eun takes on a new client: chaebol celeb Kang Hae-jin, who is played by Kim Jae-young (Reflection of You). He becomes her Tues-Thurs-Sat contract husband. The posters are not shy about the different dynamics of our two couples, because while Sang-eun seems to command the power in the Mon-Wed-Fri couple, she seems flustered when she’s a part of the Tue-Thurs-Sat couple. And, I mean, if you have Kim Jae-young back-hugging you, this is an understandable response.

The final poster features our fake groom face-off, and the two wonder when they’ll find love instead of mere “marriage.” It doesn’t take a genius to expect the two to fall in love with her for realsies and vie for her heart — and her non-professional attention on Sunday, which is her only day free of wife cosplay.

Written by Ha Gu-dam with PD Nam Sung-woo (My Roommate Is a Gumiho, Old School Intern) at the helm — which bodes well for this being as cheeky as it should be — tvN’s Love in Contract premieres next month on September 21.

Sometimes, I wonder what make-up artist/stylist are thinking...

His overall styling reminds me of an idol. Not that I have something against idol make-up, but his look is not giving Hallyu actor vibes, which is more subdued yet polished. He looked just right after Reflection of You (sigh)

Am I the only one feeling the pink eye make-up is a bit creepy?!

In Park Min-young and Go Gyung-po's poster, it sure does coupled with Park Min-young's cunning smile (we just need blood splotches on the edges).

The posters are photoshopped so that they make all three actors look waxen, creepy, and fake. Maybe it somehow ties into the concept? Maybe it's actually a vampire story? I feel like I can NEVER trust promo blurbs about what kind of show it will be anymore.

I will probably wait a few episodes to hear whether the chaebol-celeb part makes any sense* at all.

*in the drama plot-logic sense of sense, not in real life.

I'm definitely trying not to look directly at the posters 🙈.

Isn’t it just absurd to do this to the draw-cards? Photoshop seems to be mostly misused. Some of the ones from Western shows and movies are anatomical horrors like an actor’s kneecap facing the wrong direction, someone else’s elbow missing and faces that belong to Stepford Wives when they had started malfunctioning.

I'm worried about the lost puppy dog look on Go Kyung Po... poor thing looks like he can't figure out how he got roped into a script like this lol

The posters are bad but hopefully the drama is not. I like contract relationships but not love triangles so we'll see. PMY and GKP look good together. No comment on PMY and KJY.

The couple posters look like two different dramas:
1) It's a thriller, and Go Gyung-pyo is a man who finds himself married to a woman, played by Park Min-young, whose husbands all mysteriously died in "accidents".
2) A fantasy romance starring Park Min-young as a woman who finds herself in a contract marriage with vampire Kim Jae-young (he's been looking vampiric in all the posters).
The poster designs aren't bad, but it's just the excessive make-up and/or whitewashing of the actors, minus Go Gyung-pyo, which make them extremely off-putting.

😂😂😂 These are already better dramas than 90% of what's airing now. I would totally watch either of them!

Ugh yea, the Photoshop is too much. I wonder if they went extra to match with the magazine theme (maybe intentional or unintentional haha).

I honestly think the actual drama won't be that filtered, right? *prays to drama gods*

Still loving Kim Jae Young's hair. >:D

Park Min Young looks so different in these posters, specially in the 2nd one. The makeup is seriously awful. I do hope Park Min Young will look her normal self in the drama. I became a fan after Sungkyungkwan Scandal and What's wrong with secretary Kim.
