New stills and a poster for KBS’s Curtain Call

The more I see of KBS’s upcoming drama Curtain Call, the more excited I get. Quality, class, and a fantastic group of actors! With the likes of Kang Haneul, Ha Ji-won, Go Du-shim, Kwon Sang-woo, Sung Dong-il, Ji Seung-won, Hwang Woo-seul-hye, and Choi Dae-hoon — and that’s not even all of them — how can one not get excited? The first teaser gave us a really great peek at the drama, and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t look like KBS was putting a lot of their eggs into the Curtain Call basket.

The poster that’s recently been released features our two leads Kang Haneul and Ha Ji-won in a very bright and romantic shot — quite carefree for the drama we’re promised is full of last wishes, chaebol family problems, tragic Korean War backstory, and lots of high-quality drama. But the drama’s tagline is also optimistic: “On the big and beautiful stage of life, anything can change.”

In addition to the poster, we have stills of supporting characters played by Noh Sang-hyun (Pachinko) and Jung Ji-so (whom I barely recognized from Imitation!).

Directed by PD Yoon Sang-ho (Jinxed at First, River Where the Moon Rises) and written by Jo Sung-keol (The Target), Curtain Call premieres October 31 in the Monday-Tuesday slot.

Yes this looks like a strong contender for Pachinko style epic story telling. I like dramas that cover historical events without time travel so it will be interesting to watch the grandmother’s story unfold.

I have to say that my main draw is the leads. Love them. KHN was so good in Camellia and HJW was also lovely in Chocolate. The poster looks really good. I’m low key excited for this one

I like the old school KDrama vibe for this one. The casting is great. I'm just concerned by the PD because of his last drama.

I honestly have no words for Jinxed At First. Or rather, I do have words, it's just that none of them are longer than four letters so it's less a sentence than incoherent profanity.

I also don't know what to expect of this writer.
So the cast is great but I'm not going to hold out too many expectations.

This is so appealing to me, I love the up-from-the-ashes of the Korean War story, especially for a woman (who is not a crony chaebol that was created by the dictatorship, but that would be an interesting story as well). I hope we get a lot of Grandma.

Daebak, it has been long since I last saw Ha Ji won in Chocolate.
She will always be my favourite. ☺️
