It's such a good and fun show.
The comedy, the action, the drama, and the relationships are all done so well here.

The entire cast did an awesome job and there's many cute and funny moments. Lee Ha Nee was made for this role. The casting department deserves kudos for bringing these folks together for this project.

The OST is so fun and fitting.

Just everything is right with this show.

10/10 Why?
it was a fun, highly watchable drama, suited to any age level.
It never violated the audience's trust by inserting a sub-plot that was patently ridiculous.
The characters and the story remained true to themselves.
It skillfully threaded the needle of encouraging and at the same time avoiding an unrealistic relationship between the FL and ML.
All the secondary characters left you wanting to know more about them.
And most importantly for a drama that I really, really liked...there are abundant possibilities for additional seasons.

Here are the additional seasons that I'd like to see:
Next year, a prequel:
A fun hijinks filled drama that shows the back story of the husband's 'marriage' in Qing. (Seriously, how many times does that actor need to steal every scene he's in -- as a secondary character -- before they make him a lead?)

Knight Flower setup: He disappeared to marry a blonde haired, blue eyed woman and returned 15 years later, a hipster, speaking modern American english. He married the blonde, and that marriage seems like it's somehow still in progress.

The Spinoff:
A 12 episode time-travel drama with some back and forth between ancient Qing/Joseon and modern Seoul. The wife is a time traveling modern heiress who spent a lot of time in the States (hence the english spoken with an accurate American accent). Ending: The OTP is still in love and separated by time; hoping for a reunion.

What would I like the FL character to be like? She would have the same personality as another scene-stealing character: "Jin Ae" from Emergency Couple. [A character so well played, she's still memorable 10 years later...even though the drama was pretty cringey.]

It'd also be fun to do have the prequel take a 'You From the Stars' approach and pack it full of dramaverse meta. Like having them travel through time and meet the actors in Knight Flower; but in their roles in other dramas. Like, going back to Goryeo and meeting his mother as Court Lady Choi from Faith. Or, as Ajumma from Healer. Or even as a Jeju haneyo.

The conflict: Maintaining equilibrium and figuring out how to survive, while time takes them for a wild ride.

Ending: The two leads are still happily married, madly in love, but get disconnected by time. He's back in Joseon and she's in Seoul.

Next installment in the series: A 'three musketeers' or 'Robin Hood' theme, with our FL, ML, SML and the King delivering justice to people oppressed by the nobles. No love line between them. Just mystery-solving, justice-delivering, and action with hijinks. Perhaps a love line could be added between some of the secondary characters from Knight Flower. Or by a return of the FL in the prequel.

I guess the best barometer of how much I liked this drama, was that I spent time writing this tome. LOL

It's entertaining and fun with a solid cast and manages to avoid draggy angst and frustrating love triangles that fusion sageuks typically involve. It doesn't swell on the emotions much, so everything zips through very fast. And it stuck the landing, which is something most dramas just aren't able to do.

The drama is very much centered on the female lead from beginning to end. And Honey Lee nailed the role. Her male lead, Lee Jong-won, also did a fantastic job. He brought the right amount of adult sexual tension and puppy eyes The supporting cast is quite solid too.

A warning in case some people are looking for a rom-com: the drama's primary genres are comedy, action, and sageuk. It has romance, but it's more romance-lite, so the couple stays in that tension-filled "some" flirtation stage for the entirety of the drama. I love the flirtation stage, so I'm satisfied enough.

Reasons to watch the drama
1. Honey Lee slaying it with her role. She really deserves many awards this year.
2. A story focused on its characters rather than the mystery or the cases.
3. Side Stories hit deep as well.

A great cast and a great story. Lee Honey was extraordinarily good. She's been made to do comedy. Lee Jong won also exceeded my expectations.
The antagonists were flimsy. However it was just 12 episodes.

This was such a lovely watch! 12 episods just flew by, swish! The writer knew what they were doing, and the director knew where they were going, the actors understood their assignment and everyone delivered. A fun saguek that can actually tickle funny bones and also squeeze out a tear or two is an out and out winner. The romance didn't sell, but there was hardly any and whatever there was kind of a puppy crush thatw as well knitted in. I actually loved the husband and almost shipped them for a little while. Highly highly recommend.
Honey Lee has a new fan.
