“…cultural appropriation is what they did. Taking characteristics of another culture and using it in a way that was supposed to be “comedic.” The portrayal of the character was not only disgusting quite frankly but also about as funny as trump calling the coronavirus the kungflu (that means it’s absolutely f***ing not funny). Cultural appropriation is like using someone’s bathroom and leaving a mess behind. It’s quite annoying and you won’t get invited over anymore.”

“Posting again here because this thread looks like it needs some truth. This isn’t a “be open-minded” thing. This isn’t about change or what’s to come. In case you didn’t notice, what people are finding problematic is in the present. As in the first 2 episodes. Nobody cares how he’s gonna change. We are asking why he is the way he is and why he is in the show. Don’t try to be a pacifist. Years of taking the pacifist road is why things like these still air without problems. Pick a side.”

“Speaking out here to dismiss this frankly stupid point about the drama showing prejudice in today’s society. First of all, What?? You thought about that sentence then you wrote it down and you still can’t see what’s wrong with it? What lesson is it showing huh? If this was a show about prejudice and overcoming it in today’s society I would understand but this show has absolutely nothing to do with that. There were some scenes about racism in Itaewon Class that I didn’t like but I admit it added to the story and it made sense. I honestly don’t see the point in a non-Black character having dreads and wearing Jamaican style clothing in this show. I don’t understand why that already messed up character had to be the weird one drawing naked bodies in the dark and touching himself. I especially do not freaking understand why he had flies coming out of his hair!!!!! If it was some white guy with flies in his hair masturbating in the dark y’all wouldn’t be out here spewing this madness. You have to see that this character is an insult to Black people everywhere and NOOO! Nobody’s being “overly sensitive” and NO! This is absolutely NOT a fricking “joke”. Stop lying to yourself and see what you know it is. You! Yes, you Karen! You know what you thought when you saw that dude. And this goes to everyone saying “It’s just a joke”, “Calm down”, “Cultural appropriation isn’t real” or worse “Haters gonna hate.” This is way more than some actors or your faves. This is about real people who have been insulted and brought down in subtle and not-so-subtle ways like this for centuries. People who are tired of being afraid of the majority and having to laugh it off. Enough is enough. Stop the madness.”

“Sorry if it’s harsh but I wasted all my nice energy on some other person.”
