I’m going to keep watching it—until I really can’t— just to see how it goes, because I KNOW for a fact, after watching a few Thai BL, that they, sadly, don’t treat this sort of stuff with seriousness, and it’s just a part of the watching experience ☹️☹️
There are so many problematic elements to their relationship. There is a youtuber who had a video on TharnType and other Thai BL dramas with similar issues.
Yea, so far, In terms of Thai BL dramas, besides this one, I have also watched:
– “Love By Chance”, which had the healthiest relationship between the main couple, everyone else was a mess (one of the supporting character’s story is actually tied to “TharnType”, as “Love By Chance” and”TharnType” actually come from the same universe
– “Why R U?”, which had the best character development/discover plot-wise, for the main couple… I skipped everything else
– “Theory Of Love”, which I actually FF through, as it didn’t get interesting until the latter half, imo
The one Thai BL drama that I watched from start to finish and really enjoyed was “Until We Meet Again.” The relationship between the leads (and even to an extent the secondary leads) was tastefully done.

Yea, the more I watch TharnType, the more horrified I am at the glaring number of consent issues this show has and at how people in the comments seem to be okay with it, and almost defends it, just because a disclaimer is given at the start of each episode about events not being true to life and how it’s all just fictional and a depiction
@bebeswtz Yes, consent is a serious issue in TharnType. I understand that some viewers have no issue with this but there are others that do. Also, while it is a drama and they have all those disclaimers, there are people who do not understand/respect consent within relationships. For example, in “Until We Meet Again” there is a scene where one of the leads embraces the other and doesn’t let go, in spite of his partner’s request. The later manages to push the former away and tells him point blank that he doesn’t like this and tells him never to do something like that again. His partner realizes his mistake, apologizes, and promises never to embrace him or do anything without his consent. It was a beautiful example of respect for your partner’s boundaries.
@sirena
Yea, I never thought that consent in dramas would feel like a breath of fresh air in dramas because it’s so uncommon, and such is the case for Thai BL 😒😒😒
That’s why I like the Thai BLs “Love By Chance” season 1 (season 2 is in the making) and “WHY R U?” so much, because consent was present
