Beanfriends, what’s the consensus on Hush?

I tried 3 eps but dropped because it didn’t keep my attention. However, fanwall posts and comments by @jorobertson (who’s been watching faithfully) are tempting me to pick it up again, which I might in a bit.

I noticed @jorobertson‘s posts and comments as well! It’s what has got me interested and asking for more feedback from other Beanies. I was initially very tempted because of Hwang Jungmin, whom I loved in New World and A Violent Prosecutor, but I wasn’t hearing much about it, so I’ve held off until now.

Hi @pickleddragon and @smaltwalt I have a couple of episodes to catch up on, so I was going to do that before I said more. I’ve been enjoying it because of HJM and also because of the story of people power that is running as an undercurrent. There’s an intergenerational thing happening too. I’m not sure how well it’s going to end up, but I’m interested. I noticed on k-drama clubhouse on youtube, Kthree, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DStCB11igIA, they commented how well put together it was, but did not go into it because of the ongoing Washington trauma. They reserved the discussion for next week. It touches on serious stuff and it might be the very thing that people might want to get away from. I always find those themes engrossing. I’ll catch up with the next couple of episodes tonight and get back to you.

So I’ve watched up to episode 8 now. I’d prefer to binge watch it in chunks because it is complicated and I have to “get back into it” every week. I still like it though. It’s panning out to be a mystery and also a story of exposing corruption with a team of very flawed reporters. This episode, I started to see the “team” come together and they are wily foxes. The newspaper is closely connected to politics – not at all unknown in SK (or elsewhere), but in this case it’s all about strengthening the web of power and influence and wealth into the next generation, and carelessly perpetuating glaring inequality. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I like a mystery and all the machinations of politics and power. I wonder if anyone else is watching it and what they think? It’s not doing that well in the ratings, I see. 2.7% and 2.3%
