ok so im gonna go on ep 8 but obviously hello, me! is great. i think the best part about this is the overarching theme of happiness and youth being able to carry on. i also really like the subtle interactions like you can tell what impressions they all make on each other. ha ni is supposed to have a natural charm to her but what made her so popular was being obnoxious and showcasing herself for that attention. when she ages, there’s a lot of reasons why she can’t do that.

conversely, ji eun is seen as charming and cool even though she’s super reserved and insecure. she was just so quiet and behind a shadow in school; because of her inferiority to ha ni and her nature. she didn’t want to be looked at. she still doesn’t but she really likes the work. she’s genuinely just a more meek person and it’s okay, she’s really sweet.

the two of them now at this age are good because ji eun is in all ways the stronger one but she still can’t one up her but also there’s no need to AND ha ni knows to delegate to her because ji eun is a leader and an expert in this. there’s room for everyone.

but beyond that the way people get along and the way they relate to all the charms that you have. some will like it immediately, some you may have to prove yourself too, and some people may not like you or will actively harm you. it doesn’t matter though; you just need to “be confident and cheer up!” (in the lightest of senses)

it’s just all very personal and removed from reality in a great way. it’s escapism that’s using the ills of the world to escape. also like being real about being a human and consequences. oftentimes, esp in kdramas, the mistakes that are made are done by stupid women (we’re sooooo clumsy hee) and their stupid derailments because they suck at their jobs. yea, work sucks, but so do you. so jieun isnt wrong about making ha ni prove it. they also are not best friends AND ji eun is her boss. so the pettiness and the BS comes in with the snide comments (hello that is workplace no no bitch that’s when im like listen ji eun watch ur fucking back)

but i notice at the end of ep 7 one of the coworkers smiles when ha ni says she wants to join the contest. the rest of them look a bit awed but you can tell he’s someone who’s liked her a lot from the start. yu hyeon is one of those characters two like with geum ja and her friend. you’re just like “i don’t know, i just like you” and it’s all that childlike energy that some people can’t contain.

these are my fav characters (both ha nis too) and the family. the whole poitn of the show is keeping and nurturing your inner kid and growing. growing older isn’t bad at all. when the dad was singing “what’s wrong with my age?” NOTHING OLD MAN!!!!! nothin’ and thanks for reminding me there’s nothing wrong with mine either cos i was ready to jump off a building the day i turned 29 so

this is sorto fjust what i need rn bc sickness and oldness and shit…ppl in my family having cancer bla bla and me feeling stupid, useless, unaccomplished, and not wanting to live. hello, me does a really good job of forcing you out of your comfort zone but having that person who was one in you that could do anything. also can’t wait to see more of so hye and ha ni. it’s very opssible ha ni could have turned out to be abysmal if the things didn’t go the way they were, but it’s possible that she wouldn’t have too. she’s always had a good core so she would have probably grown out of it. but just because it was ripped away doesn’t mean you have to punish yourself for it. i was disappointed when i hurt myself the other day, bc i waould never want to do that to 15 year old me. i just can’t remember what that girl was like at all.

if life was as simple as it should have been. as carefree. god like you see the world through a kid’s eyes and they absorb everything but it’s so easy and open and full of joy and it just gets fucking crushed out of you and you’re expected to punish yourself for eternity. that’s why kids and teens are so fun to watch because they’re trying to figure it out and it’s harder for adults to understand their selfishness is figuring out how they can survive. i dont know man. this is a really good way of holding a mirror up to yourself but not like bashing it over ur head and using the glass shards to cut yourself. it’s just like chill man, you’re okay. remember when everything revolved around you and you just wanted to have fun? you and your friends did dumb shit? you can actually be happy
